The aim of the Scout Association and 5th Marchwood Scout Group is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full potential – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local and wider community.
So that these aims can be achieved it is essential that we
We, therefore, encourage :
Our Behaviour Code is based on the Scout Promise (and the variations of the Beaver and Cub Promise)
This is for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Leaders and parents to observe.
We will at all times:
– at any time
If the behaviour of any member falls below the expected level of the Group/Unit Behaviour Code, the following actions will be taken:
the member will be told to stop what they are doing with a clear explanation of the reasons, consequences if they do not comply and the expectations of our Behaviour Code. Should it be a Young Member, the possible exclusion from that activity for a short time will be at the discretion of the Leader/Adult leading the activity.
THREE verbal warnings within a term will result in a Yellow Card. Verbal warnings shall be recorded
Details of the incident will be recorded by the Section Leader and parents/guardians/carers will be contacted. The member will automatically be removed from the activity for a minimum of 10 minutes.
A further verbal warning as a result of any further breaking of the Behaviour Code will bring another Yellow Card. The above procedure will again be followed with the parents/guardians/carers being contacted.
It will also be reported to the Group Scout Leader that a Second Yellow Card has been issued.
The issuing of a Second Yellow Card will automatically result in a Red Card.
Details of any incident will be recorded by the Section Leader and the parents/guardians/carers will be informed. The member will be excluded from that activity and an immediate TWO WEEK suspension from all section/group/unit activities.
The incident will also be reported to the Group Scout Leader and a meeting with the young member’s parents will follow.
Should a member receive a Second Red Card it could result in the member being suspended from all activities until further notice. A meeting with the Group Scout Leader and the District Commissioner will be held in line with the Scout Association rules.
